Handmade
Each piece begins with a well considered design led approach. Once a design is complete and prototypes tested the final timbers are hand selected from our Wiltshire based timber murchant. Modern tooling techniques are used along side tradtional hand tools to ensure the best possible quality and finish.
Whilst many of our pieces are produced in small batches nothing is produced ‘en masse’ and every piece displays subtle differences, reflecting the beauty of the natural materials and the use to handtools to create them.
Sustainable
Embracing sustainable British materials is an essential part of the studio’s design philosophy.
We embody sustainability through active support of world class forestry management, which is why we will only work with timber merchants who supply FSC and ‘Grown in Britain’ certified hardwoods. In doing so we are not only supporting these industries in the UK today, but we are making an investment in their future for generations to come. Furthermore, by sourcing our materials locally, we are ensuring the lowest possible carbon footprint for each piece we create.
The workshop is run on 100% renewable energy and all of our packaging marterials are 100% biodegrable too!
British
As a British designer / maker we are committed to supporting local materials and suppliers. Not only becuase of the UK’s centries long heritage of producing outstanding materials. Also for the benefits to the local economy and the environment.
By working with local suppliers and fellow crafts people all of our pieces are either entirely made or hand finished in our own workshop. This is something we are extremely proud of.
