The seat of the Gouge stool is an exploration of the contrast between a smooth finish and the irresistibly tactile hand cut marks on the seat. The tool used to make the marks is a type of chisel called a gouge. Each of the hundreds of marks are hand cut making every piece unique in its own subtle way.
As with all pieces in the Full Grain collection the Gouge stool features both Oak and Oak Bark tanned leather. In this case the leather have been hand cut, inlayed into each leg and finished with brass tacks.
The Gouge stool is a stunning piece that is as visually striking as it is irresistible to the touch.
